Oceanside, California, July 25, 2009 – The Spectrum Services Group has chosen to go pink in the fight against breast cancer and yesterday announced their selection of a charitable organization to support – Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
“As an organization currently comprised of all women, the choice to support a (primarily) women’s cause, was an easy decision,” stated Kimberly Clark, Managing Director and Founder of The Spectrum Services Group. “However, since one of our own team members recently was diagnosed with breast cancer, the decision on which cause to support was unanimous. After doing some research, we felt Susan G. Komen for the Cure was the best fit for our organization.”
Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, they have invested more than $1.3 billion to fulfill their promise of becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
“Having Spectrum support this cause means the world to me,” stated Joanne Russell, Project Manager for Spectrum. “Participating in a Komen Race for the Cure (a 5k run/fitness walk) as a survivor was overwhelmingly emotional. Now that I’m on the road to recovery, I’m inspired to help end this terrible disease. I am so thankful that my Spectrum family is supporting this endeavor.”
The team at The Spectrum Services Group will help support Komen for a Cause through awareness and fundraising efforts including participation in Race for the Cure events.
